Here's a quick recipe for some who are trying out the maximum hydration method and are bent on spending an excessive amount on money on gel.
Well before I get into the recipe let me be the first to be honest and say I cannot afford Kinky Curly Curling Custard on a regular basis. For about $20 per 8 oz for some gel... Um, no thank you. Maybe a splurge every so often but that is wayyy out of my budget to keep it as a holy grail. For that much money it better be liquid gold that I'm applying to my hair but I digress...
Now on to the recipe!
I used the basic measurements that most use for flaxseed gel which goes as follow:
Pretty simple, huh? Although this was the standard, I have to say that I prefer a thicker consistency so 1/3 cup of flaxseeds suit me much better. You might have to fiddle around with the measurements until you find that perfect batch.
