Here's a quick recipe for some who are trying out the maximum hydration method and are bent on spending an excessive amount on money on gel.
Nowadays it seems like I'm just jumping from regimen to regimen, doesn't it? From the LOC (Liquid-Oil-Cream) Method, to the Greenhouse Effect Method, to the Curly Girl Method, and now the Maximum Hydration Method!? Jumoke, kini ni problem?? I know, I know, I'm all over the place but bear with me! While most naturals are in search of the perfect product, I'm searching for the perfect regimen! I will forever be on the hunt of how to manage my hair better and the Max Hydration Method couldn't have came sooner!
Hey guys! I know I've been ghost for a while but abeg, don't vex; life has been hectic! But even with all things taking up my time, I couldn't leave you all in dark about what I've been doing with my hair. So without further ado, here are some updates!
I know I'm a little late with this story (a month overdue in fact!) but I still couldn't pass up this opportunity to share with you all the latest news in the Natural Hair World!
So let's go back to a month ago on June 26th when the popular website CurlyNikki.com featured a White woman on their site as the hair icon (Click here to read original story). Sarah, aka waterlily716, is a popular YouTuber and is one of the women who popularized the Curly Girl Method. She explains her "natural hair journey" from wearing a bun to a wearing her hair down and even goes on to say that "there’s something very freeing about accepting your natural hair." There has been some confusion in the natural hair community about who has what curl. Now I don't mean to get too technical about arbitrary information but for the new naturals that need some help in deciphering their curl type, Jumoke is here to save the day! :D
Before I began, I have to clarify some common misconceptions about hair type. Welcome to JumiBearz! Introduce yourself!
Hi! My name is Zara! I’m a twenty-one year old violinist, composer, and vlogger. I’m also a fellow naturalista hahaha. How long have you been natural? Let’s see… I went natural in April of 2009 so I have been fully natural for a little over 5 years now. Hey everyone!
This is just a little snippet about my experience with the Curly Girl Method and the pros and cons when it comes to me and my hair. So I have been feeling some type of way for a while when it comes to how hair growth vitamins are viewed in the natural hair community. I understand that it is not fully embraced for a vast amount of reasons but my thing is don't bash someone because they use vitamins.
This one is for the new naturalistas. I know the natural hair community makes our hair seem complicating but trust me- you only need SIX products when you embark on your journey. Below, I've comprised a list of the products one needs in order from least important to most important.
Note: Many natural hair care products work double duty so that's always a plus! Note Note: The items marked with (CG) are Curly Girl friendly |
